Golf Meeting Rescheduled

The golf organizational meeting that was to be held on Friday will be rescheduled to sometime this week. Stay tuned for the rescheduled date.

 
 
Golf Meeting for 2017

There will be an organizational golf meeting for both boys and girls who plan on going out for golf this season on Friday, February 24th during homeroom (2:58 pm). The meeting will be held in the High School Commons. All those people who plan on playing on the golf team this coming season should plan to attend.

NP 2nd at Regional 1st Round
Poppe Runner-up


The Nashua-Plainfield girls golf team advanced to the regional final by virtue of their 2nd place finish in the 1st round of regionals. The team, led by senior Kelsey Poppe, posted a 427 team score. Clarksville won the meet with a 413 team score.

Individually, Senior Kelsey Poppe finished in 2nd place with a 101. Clarksville's Bridget Ross was medalist with a 95.

Girls Take Top Spot at Manly


The NP Girls' golf team took top honors to continue their streak of good play. The meet held at Pioneer Town and Country Club in Manly saw the team extend their winning streak to 10 victories in a row as they compiled a 221 team total. Northwood-Kensett was 2nd with a 236 total. Central Springs finished with a 242 team score. Riceville competed with only 2 girls.

Girls Earn Win in Triangular,
Poppe Medalist


The NP girls golf team pulled out another victory to close out the current four meet home-stand. The meet held Monday, April 18th at the Nashua Town and Country Club saw the hometown girls 14 strokes better than 2nd place Central Springs. The Huskies posted a 215 team total to Central Springs' 229. North Butler posted a 259 in the three team meet.

Girls Post Lowest Team Score of Season,
Cerwinske Earns First Medalist Honors


Megan Cerwinske, sophomore golfer, carded her best competitive round of her golf career on her way to earning her first medalist honors and ushering the NP Girls golf team to a five stroke victory. Hosting Clarksville and New Hampton at the Nashua Town and Country Club on Friday, April 15th, the Huskies combined for a 405 team score which topped New Hampton's 210 and Clarksville's 214.

Golfers Post 15 Stroke Victory


The NP girls golf team moved their season record to 5-4 with a 15 stroke victory in a quadrangular golf meet held Thursday, April 14th at the Nashua Town and Country Club. Balanced scoring was the key to the victory as the Huskies posted six scores in the 50's. NP was led by Senior Kelsey Poppe's and Sophomore Megan Cerwinske's scores of 51. Hailey Schmitz was a stroke back with a 52.

NP's Sarah McMichael captures 3rd State Championship, Kayla Dietz 10th.

NP senior Sarah McMichael captured her 3rd consecutive state individual golf championship and senior Kayla Dietz finished in 10th place at the IGHSAU State Tournament held June 1st and 2nd at Ames Golf and Country Club.

The 1st day saw McMichael take a commanding lead as she posted a 1 under par 72. This put her 10 strokes in front of her nearest competitor, Josie McMartin from Grundy Center. The 2nd day, fighting high winds, McMichael again posted the low round of the day with an 81 giving her a two day total of 153 to finish 12 strokes ahead of second place McMartin's 165.
