2023 Golf Season - 1st Practice

The 2023 NP girls golf season will begin on Monday, March 13th with the first practice. More details to follow.

If you plan on participating on the 2023 golf team, please contact Coach Jeff Trost either via email ( ) or via text (319-240-9418).

 
 
2021 Golf Season - First Golf Practice

The first golf practice of the 2021 golf season will be held Monday, March 15 in the high school media center. If you have not done so already, please email Coach Trost - - to let him know you plan on playing golf this season. See you there.

 
 

SCHOOL CLOSURES SUSPEND IOWA HIGH SCHOOL SPRING ACTIVITIES



 
Following Sunday’s announcements from Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, all spring activities of Iowa’s high school Unified Activities partners – the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, the Iowa High School Music Association, and the Iowa High School Speech Association – will be prohibited through the state’s K-12 school recommended closure of four weeks.

Golf Practice Canceled

Due to school being canceled Monday and Tuesday, there will be no golf practice held. Administration and staff are meeting to discuss options moving forward. As details emerge, we will be sure to update you.

Golf Meeting

There will be a golf meeting for all those going out for the 2020 high school golf season on Thursday, February 27th at 3:00 pm in the upper library.

2020 Season Starts March 16

The 2020 spring golf season is getting close. First practice will be Monday, March 16th. More information will be coming. Listen for sign-up information in the daily announcements at school.

Season Ends at Regional 1st Round

The NP Girls golf season came to an end at the Regional 1st Round. Playing at Silver Springs Golf Course in Ossian, the Huskies struggled on the day mustering a 6th place finish with a 466 team total. Needing to be in the top 2, the team failed to advance to the Regional Final. Advancing to the next round were Clayton Ridge with a 410 team total and Edgewood-Colesburg with a 423.

Betsinger Runner-up at Conference

Senior Keagan Betsinger litterally slogged her way to the runner-up medalist spot at the Top of Iowa Conference Girls Golf Tournament. Played at a very, very wet Buffalo Run Golf Course in Nora Springs, the senior posted a round of 93 to gather the second indivdual spot in the meet. Osage's Dani Johnson was medalist with an 88.

In the team race, the Huskies finished down in the standings at 8th place with a 482 team total. St. Ansgar took top team honors with a 410 team total to best Osage's 413. Newman Catholic, who was the champion the past three years, finished in third with a 425.

Betsinger Shines On The Road

Senior Keagan Betsinger continued her strong play with another good outing in the meet held Tuesday, April 9th in Clarksville. The senior tied for low round of the meet but lost out on the medalist honor on the 1st handicap hole to gather the runner-up medal. All in all, it was a solid performance with only two bad holes in an otherwise excellent round.

Betsinger Cards Career Low To Lead Huskies

Senior Keagan Betsinger carded her career low round of 45 to take Medalist honors in their meet held Monday, April 8 at the Nashua Town and Country Club. The Huskies team total of 230 took top honors over Rockford's 249. Northwood-Kensett had only 3 golfers compete so no team score was posted.

Betsinger was backed up by senior Abby Poppe who posted a 55. Junior Sammi Tolnai carded a 63 and sophomore Maddy Rodruck shot a 66 to give the Huskies team total. Senior Alexa Cline had a 74 to round out the scoring for the home team.
