1st Golf Practice

It is hard to believe that the start of the spring golf season is only a month away.

We will have our first official golf practice on Monday, March 12th. We are in the process of scheduling a signup meeting. Just trying to work out a good time that doesn't conflict with other events. Stay tuned for more details.

In the mean time, stay warm!

Golf Meeting - New Date

The golf meeting that was postponed from last Friday will be held Tuesday, February 28th during homeroom. It will be held in the upper library. If you plan on participating in golf this spring, you should plan on attending this meeting.

For those involved in the FFA event today, please make sure to email Coach Trost to make sure he has you on the list.

 
 
Golf Meeting Rescheduled

The golf organizational meeting that was to be held on Friday will be rescheduled to sometime this week. Stay tuned for the rescheduled date.

 
 
Golf Meeting for 2017

There will be an organizational golf meeting for both boys and girls who plan on going out for golf this season on Friday, February 24th during homeroom (2:58 pm). The meeting will be held in the High School Commons. All those people who plan on playing on the golf team this coming season should plan to attend.

Bond and Koob End High School Careers at District


Seniors Zach Bond and Devin Koob closed out their high school golfing careers at the Class 1A District Golf Tournament held Friday, May 20th at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls. The seniors finished 12th and 16th respectively. The two had qualified for districts by virtue of their top 4 finish at the previous week's sectional tournament.

Boys Victorious at Manly


It wasn't always pretty. It wasn't always the best golf. But it was enough for the NP boys golf team to come away with the victory in the quadrangular meet at Manly's Pioneer Town and Country Club on Thursday, April 21st. The Husky boys turned in a 175 team total to outdistance Northwood-Kensett's 189. Central Springs was 3rd with a 198 total. Riceville carded a 225.

Koob and Bond Duel It Out For Top Spot,
Huskies Win Triangular


NP seniors Devin Koob and Zach Bond continue their duel for the top spot on the NP boys golf team. The last several meets, the two have been trading top honors. Monday, April 18th at the Nashua Town and Country Club, the duo again battled it out for number 1 with Koob gaining the top spot with an even par round of 35. Bond was just 2 strokes back with a 37.

Bond Medalist, Team 2nd at Quad


The NP Huskies boys team finished 2nd in a quadrangular golf meet held Thursday, April 14th at the Nashua Town and Country Club. With only two players breaking the 50 barrier, the Huskies struggled on their home course.

A bright spot for NP was the play of senior Zach Bond. After a bogie, bogie, double-bogey start on his first three holes, Bond righted himself to finish the last six holes in even par to post a 4-over 39. His score tied West Fork's Gunnar Myers for low and Bond prevailed on the first hole of the sudden victory playoff.

Koob Medalist, Bond Runner-up
Huskies Win


Led by seniors Devin Koob and Zach Bond who earned medalist and runner-up medalist honors, the Huskies boys golf team topped New Hampton by five strokes. The meet held Friday, April 15th at the Nashua Town and Country Club saw the NP boys post their best team score of the season with a 167 total to out-distance New Hampton's 172. Clarksville only had two golfers so they did not figure into the team scoring.
