1st Golf Practice

The first golf practice of the 2023 golf season will be held Monday, March 13th. More details to follow.

2021 Golf Season - 1st Golf Practice

The first golf practice of the 2021 golf season will be held Monday, March 15 in the high school media center. If you have not done so already, please email Coach Trost - - to let him know you plan on playing golf this season. See you there.

 
 

SCHOOL CLOSURES SUSPEND IOWA HIGH SCHOOL SPRING ACTIVITIES



Following Sunday’s announcements from Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, all spring activities of Iowa’s high school Unified Activities partners – the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, the Iowa High School Music Association, and the Iowa High School Speech Association – will be prohibited through the state’s K-12 school recommended closure of four weeks.

Golf Practice Canceled

Due to school being canceled Monday and Tuesday, there will be no golf practice held. Administration and staff are meeting to discuss options moving forward. As details emerge, we will be sure to update you.

Golf Meeting

There will be a golf meeting for all those going out for the 2020 high school golf season on Thursday, February 27th at 3:00 pm in the upper library.

2020 Season Starts March 16

The 2020 spring golf season is getting close. First practice will be Monday, March 16th. More information will be coming. Listen for sign-up information in the daily announcements at school.

Season Ends for Boys Golf at Districts

Based on averages coming in to districts, it was going to take a huge effort on the part of the NP boys golf team. While the effort was there, the results didn't add up as the Huskies finished in 7th place with a 385 team total. Only the top two teams from district advance to state. Grundy Center took top honors with a 334 team total. Bishop Garrigan took the 2nd spot with a 347 total.

On To Districts!

The NP Boys golf team is saving their best golf for the last. Consistency up and down the lineup led to a runner-up finish at the sectional golf meet on Friday, May 10 at Nashua Town and Country Club. By virtue of their 2nd place finish, the Huskies advance to the district meet next Friday at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls.

It was a total team effort as ten strokes was the difference between the #1 score and the #6 score as they had three golfers place in the top ten. The NP team also carded their best nine hole team total of the season on he 2nd nine. Shane Hillesheim led the NP contingent with a 90. Derick Auchstetter posted a 91, Drew Moine a 92, Lucas Pierce a 94, Trey Nelson a 95 and Max Hillegas a 100.

Boys Golf 3rd at Conference, Moine 1st Team All-Conference

It wasn't always pretty golf, but the Nashua-Plainfield boys golf team persevered to finish 3rd at the Top of Iowa Boys Conference Golf Tournament. Held Monday, May 6 at Acorn Park Golf Course in St. Ansgar, the Huskies battled on the 2nd nine and carded one of their lowest nine hole team totals of the season to finish with a 387 team total. Osage won the meet in easy fashion with a 356 total. Just three strokes ahead of NP was Central Springs with a 384. Two strokes in back of the Huskies was North Butler with a 389 team total for 4th place.

Auchstetter Leads NP to the Top

Sophomore Derik Auchstetter posted a medalist round of 41 to lead the NP boys golf team to victory. Carter Pals from Central Springs also posted a 41 but Auchstetter took top honors thru the tiebreaker.

The meet held Thursday, April 25 in Manly at Pioneer Town and Country Club saw the team post their season best team score on the way to the victory. Backing up Auchstetter was freshman Trey Nelson who carded a 44, his season best. Shane Hillesheim and Max Hillegas posted a 50 and 51 respectively to give the Huskies their 186 total. Second place in the meet went to Central Springs with a 191. Newman Catholic totaled 209 for third and Riceville a 237. Other scores for NP were Drew Moine with a 54 and Drew Rodruck with a 63.
